It’s Not The Heat It’s The Humidity

That’s what they say anyway.

I didn’t really believe the weather forecasters when they said a heat wave would be upon us for this past week and for the forseeable part of summer…we all know how wrong those guys usually are…but we actually had some nice, warm sunshine this whole past week.

My mum had a holiday off work this past week and, for Monday, we had hoped to go on a day out to one of our favourite places to visit for a day out, a village out in the countryside called Hayfield…but we had to put that off ’till Friday coz a guy was coming around Monday morning to look at our front door which occasionally wouldn’t shut properly coz it kept hitting some allan key bolts that were sticking out of the outer frame’s receivers for the door’s catch + lock mechanism whatsits.

It just needed scooching over a bit…I didn’t actually see him fix the problem, I was engrossed in playing Saints Row The Third all day Monday ticking off as many requirements as I could to get the “You’re My Hero” acheivement…I didn’t quite polish ’em all off that day but I did figure out a trick to getting the character to windshield cannon…you have to get a good run-up, hit a solid barrier or a wall on the passenger side of the bonnet, and try to turn into the point of impact if you can.

Anyway it was a couple of days before I did finally polish off all the requirements to get the “You’re My Hero” achievement, thus obtaining all achievements and getting my second PSN Platinum Trophy ever…my first PSN Platinum Trophy being from getting everything in Burnout Paradise, of course.

Now I’ve loaded up GTA 4 again…there’s still a lot I have to do before I can get a PSN Platinum Trophy in that, I can tell ya. I gotta;
– find all the stunt jumps,
– win 20 offline races,
– win 20 online races,
– complete the three online co-op missions on time, whatever “on time” means,
– win in every online game there is,
– get the highest possible online rank of 10
– AND get 100% in a single instance of the offline game…which is;
— all the missions,
— all the random pedestrians,
— all Brucie’s Exotic Export car thefts,
— all Stevie’s car thefts,
— all Jacob’s drug deliveries,
— all the High-End Assassinations,
— win all Brucie’s different offline races,
— do 20 vigilante missions off the Police computer,
— kill all the Police’s most wanted list,
— get all your friends to like you above 60% or 75%,
— do every possible activity with each friend,
— win in all the game activities,
— find all the stunt jumps (Which I need to do anyway.)
— and last but not least, kill all the pigeons.

I have yet to do all 9 different Brucie races in one game, and I have yet to find all the different stunt jumps. I’ve done everything else separately. Fitting it all into one game will not be easy. But I WANT to do it, because it’s challenging. It’ll be the first platinum trophy I’ve REALLY had to work hard for. A proper hardcore gamer’s trophy.

Yes, the Burnout Paradise one was challenging as a good bit of getting it required the DLC vehicles and Island for the game. I still need to get all the online challenges on that for the final car, the Diamond P12.

Oh I seem to have gone a bit off-topic there, haven’t I? I was supposed to be talking about our front door.
Yeah we’d been having troubles getting it to close every so often pretty much ever since we got it.
I guess the guy who originally installed it for us made a very slight miscalculation in his measurements somewhere.
So far we haven’t had any problems closing it since Monday but it remains to be seen if the problem re-surfaces.

Oh. My. God.
You know how I missed my Seetec appointment on the 13th of June? Well Seetec themselves didn’t seem too bothered about it so long as it never happened again…but the jobcenter went and sent me a letter requesting a “Good Reason” letter off me to explain why I didn’t show up on the 13th of June.
I honestly didn’t think they would take it that far. I honestly didn’t think they cared enough.
I don’t HAVE a good reason for not attending…it was just my bad memory making me forget about it.
I hope they don’t hit my JSA claim TOO badly…this was a one-time thing, after all…or at least, it must be ages since I last completely missed an appointment like this if at all…I was only late for a Jobseeker’s sign-on the last time I did something anywhere near as silly as that, and that’s only coz I got mixed up over what time it was at.Oh, and you know how he wanted to see me before a jobsearch this past Thursday? Turned out it was just so he knew I was in.

I found out what the release date of that game called “Watchdogs” is…flippin’ November 22nd?!? Well, I suppose they wanna tie it in with the PS4 release in autumn. Wouldn’t make much sense to release it for a console that’s not out yet…though it does mean I got a bit of a long wait for the PS3 version.

Anyway, yeah, my mom, my dad and I all went to Hayfield on Friday. They had a flower and well dressing festival on all week, so we had a nosey round all the flower displays and the well dressings in the town…we kinda kept to the ones around the town center and didn’t venture to the far ones that were, like, a mile away. We didn’t fancy a particularly long walk.

After Hayfield, we got the bus back to as far as a place called New Mills because we fancied a nosey round there too…and once we were done noseying around there, we stopped off at a place called Marple for a bit too and had a nosey round there. This is where the fun bit begins.

You see, after we were done noseying around Marple, my dad and I needed the loo, but my mum was okay, so we separated from her and she got the bus home. After we visited the toilet, we then found a bus home waiting for us…we got on that…but then I realized I felt thirsty…thinking the bus still had to wait around for a few more minutes, I nipped out to the shops to grab a drink, but there were two people in front of me…and they were still in the middle of being served when the bus my dad was still on pulled out of the stop and trundled off without me. Contsarn it.
So I got my drink and a snack to eat as well coz I realized I was hungry as well…and then waited for the next bus home and got on that.
So the three of us all went home on different buses!

Oh and while on the way to Hayfield we saw a funeral procession with, you guessed it, a coffin-laiden hearse…and on the way back I saw an empty hearse…it was probably the same hearse on its way back to wherever the hearse company is.
I swear I’m seeing way too many hearses lately for it to be a co-incidence…

For a while now I’ve had a constant ringing in my right ear that just wouldn’t go away. I’d noticed it ever since, like, May.
I WAS gonna go to the doctor’s about it but it seems to have gone away now.
What I think it is, is my right ear is allergic to headphones…you know those big padded ones DJs have?
I think if I’m wearing those a lot, my ears don’t like it…or at least, my right ear doesn’t.
I think I remember having this problem sometime before as well.
So I guess it came about again coz I was using headphones at Pure Radio. Welp, I won’t be doing that again, that’s for sure.

When I went in last Wednesday to do the Monty Python script, I found Paul Holloway had altered the thing from my original layout with a pen…he effectively butchered it and got rid of some of the parts that gave it its personality…and it didn’t help that most of the disabled people taking part in One Voice weren’t in…so we couldn’t have the right person saying the right thing.
I still feel kinda bad about leaving coz it still feels like they need me but…it’s just not worth it.
I gotta keep telling myself that. It’s just not worth staying.

I’m a little worried for the future of my radio career with the ear thing though…coz wearing those kinds of headphones is part and parcel of the job.
It won’t help much with my internet social life or my gaming either coz I’m probably gonna wanna need to use a headset to communicate with people online or in-game chats. Though it might not be such a problem with those not-so-big-not-so-padded headphones most lower-end headsets usually have. Though using those would probably be degrading the sound quality a bit.

Another problem I’ve been noticing of late is my brain had been feeling kinda numb and very much asleep and pretty heavy. Sometimes it feels like my head, especially my brain, is almost too heavy for my neck to keep aloft.
My brain’s numbness and feeling of being asleep has been making it hard for me to think…and thinking was never my strong point to begin with.

I also think I’m becoming gradually more and more retarded…I’ve been making much bigger mistakes than I used to…especially with my typing…before now I would just typo one or two letters in a word every now and again…now I’ve been typing completely the wrong word every now and again…

For instance, just earlier today when I was hosting at my post at Club Zero in Second Life, and I was doing a host post urging everyone attending to stick around at Club Zero for the next DJ and Host coz my DJ and I were signing off…and I typed “Industrial Dreamz” instead of “Club Zero”…
I MUST be getting retarded for my brain to be over two years behind itself and make me think I was still hosting for Industrial Dreamz for the split second I was typing the club’s name.

And this is even with my brain actually feeling awake and animated and alive again. It seemed to just re-energize and stop feeling heavy from watching the second episode of the newly released Avatar; Legend Of Korra today. It musta been those bending battles in that arena. It awakened my own air bending spirit.
Okay, I know my wiccan air aura doesn’t work the same way but the spirit of the show really makes it come alive. I noticed this watching the original Avatar series with Aang and Co. as well. Somehow, I just get so much energy from watching the Avatar cartoon series. Especially when there’s a bending battle going on in the episode.

Oh, and it still kinda feels like my neck wants to strangle me and I’m still trying to fight that and I’m still having trouble getting over the neck muscle abuse and mouth cricking habits I’ve developed.

God, things just haven’t been quite right with me ever since I fell down the stairs last year, and I swear I’m getting gradually worse and worse.

Weight Check!
14 stone 8, 92.8 kg, 204.5 lb
Oh. I did this one barefoot. All the others were done with shoes…add the weight of my shoes I’m probably closer to last week’s weight, just under.

Metal Gear Awesome Snake Okay Okay! What else…?

Oh yeah. I made a good start on the second of Typhoon’s answers I have to do. I looked up what I needed to look up. Now I’m using what I learned. I should finish that up soon.
Then it’s on to finishing up editing the Scotland trip footage…that shouldn’t take too long rither…there’s just the rest of Day 4 to do, then it’s Day 5, which probably only needs a couple of parts…edit together a fancy intro for it, make some still part-markers, add those in, and bob’s your uncle.

Also One last point about my ex-relationship with Loomi…looking back, and looking at what she’s doing now, I believe that;
A- She wasn’t really into me the same way I was into her and
B- She wasn’t really who she made herself out to be.
I think my brain already knew this somehow and became a troll to make me do what I did as a sort of “Get out of jail free” card so I can go find someone else in SL to love.

Huh. This blog post is kinda all over the place, isn’t it? But it’s organized chaos. I think the way I did it would make the most sense to the reader.

Well, I think that’s about all I have to talk about this week.

So, until next week…

Ciao for now,
Cordially, The Blue Fox Thom.
